Summer fun
Cabins for Camp Commitment
A big improvement this summer was the two cabins, built
on either side of the school. We worked in the white cover-all buildings
as much as possible to keep away from the ferocious bugs. It was a learning
experience for all, and sometimes difficult, but it was great to see the
progress at the end of the day.

The Flag Pole
As well, we erected a 30' flag pole which let's our maple
leaf fly above the tree tops.

The struggle, the raising, the true North strong and free.

Camp Commitment 2004
Finally, when the construction was done, we had camps; boy's
camp, girl's camp and Holy Family Camp, each a week long. We had the biggest
attendance ever, filling the cabins with enthusiastic children who participated
in Catechism classes, mass, cleaning, sports, campfire, skits and sleeping
when they are supposed to be sleeping.
We were blessed with four priests for camps this year; Fr.
Bernard from St. Mary's in Saskatoon, Fr. Charest from Zenon Park, SK
and Fr. Campbell and Fr. Saupe from the Chicago area.

Two religous for Brabant Lake!
Joshua Caswell and Patsy Caswell have answered God's call for religous
vocations. In the summer of 2003, Joshua joined the Society of St. John
Cantius in Chicago, who's apostolate is "Instaurare Sacra" (Restoration
of the Sacred). Patsy, in 2004, joined The Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother
of the Eucharist in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which is a contemplative/teaching
order. Both Brother Joshua and Sister Patsy agree that through prayer,
they are more closely connected with the mission of Our Lady of the North
than ever.
